Depending on the kind of mask you have, you could potentially use it on your hair! Below are some fun facts about Dead Sea Mud, benefits of using mud masks in your hair, and how to apply them.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING A MUD MASK IN MY HAIR? Masks in the hair can be very beneficial based on their ingredients. The best masks to put in the hair are mud-based masks. They are easy to put in the hair and have many beneficial properties. Our Dead Sea Mud Mask contains dead sea mud, aloe, and hickory bark extract.

  • Dead sea mud specifically helps stimulate hair strands to create proteins, which contribute to hair growth. It also absorbs excess oils while also purifying and cleansing the scalp. The grit within the mud will also exfoliate your scalp, helping to lift any dry skin.

  • Aloe reduces inflammation and moisturizes dry scalps. If you happen to get sunburn on your scalp, the aloe in this mask will be a lifesaver for soothing the burnt skin.

  • Hickory bark extract alleviates pain from dryness in the scalp by reducing itchiness from eczema and psoriasis.

WHAT EXACTLY IS DEAD SEA MUD?

Dead sea mud, as the name states, is a mud full of 21 rich minerals, such as magnesium, calcium, and sodium, taken from the bottom of the Dead Sea in the Middle East. The Dead Sea has the lowest sea level out of all bodies of water on Earth, and is surrounded by mountains whose minerals provide the beneficial properties found within the mud. It’s healing properties are beneficial, making the Dead Sea a hot spot for tourism. The mud is mostly used on the skin for its calming and soothing effects, but it has become a natural remedy for various uses such as hair masks and use in spas. A little more on the history/properties of the Dead Sea: The Dead Sea is about 10 times saltier than the ocean because unlike many other bodies of water, the water doesn't have anywhere to flow. This and high rates of evaporation have lead to a profound amount of mineral and salt deposits in the water. In ancient times, the sea was used as one of the world's first spas by figures like Cleopatra and the Queen of Sheba. Anecdotes passed through time created the Dead Sea's reputation as a place for quick healing and natural tranquility.
